Weeks 23 and 24

Missed out writing last week, so I will try to catch things up this week :)

Finished up our theme 'Let's Go!' this past week. We had fun the week before talking about and making airplanes from toilet paper rolls. We also decorated paper airplanes one day to fly around the room. It is amazing to see how something as simple as toilet paper rolls and a folded bit of paper can be so interesting and fun to children. The airplane flying was a little chaotic, but fun.

While finishing up the theme this week, we reviewed our stories from the last month and also made pictures of our favorite ways to travel. Jumbo jet and airplane seemed to be the ones mentioned the most, but zodiac and star also made it in. On Friday, we decorated some car and train cookies for a special snack and then had fun making our own 'ways to go' with little Legos borrowed from the Grade 1's - thanks boys for letting us borrow them! Everyone was very creative with flying cars, racing cars and police cars. The Preschool 2's also finished up their 'Things That Go' book this week to take home. They did an excellent job writing and illusrating all the pages.

Recess and outside playtime has been interesting the last week and a half because of the loud work the men are doing on Deck 7 and 8. Two days we went down and played games and danced in the International Lounge and we also spent time in the crossway on Deck 7 playing beanbags and tag on other days. Really missing the dock in Liberia on those days!

Getting ready to start our new theme of the 5 Senses next week. I am looking forward to some fun activities and exploration over the next few weeks. Hard to believe that it is already the second week on March - only three more months of preschool! We are still missing the people who left in December - thanks for your messages Norah and Mayra! We wish you could come back for an afternoon too! :)
