Time is flying here at Appelsbosch. It is hard to believe that it will soon be the end of October and everyone is beginning to think about Christmas and packing to return to our home on the ship.
Last week for Messy Monday, I brought out some chalk paint that I had bought a couple years ago and finally was able to use it. I had thought that it would work on the dock, but being so hot and dirty, it never seemed like the right time. Well, the timing at Appelsbosch was perfect. The chalk paint ran out quickly, but we still had messy fun with water and paintbrushes.

For October's Spirit Day, we celebrated with Twin Day. Lots of fun was had by all as the school gathered in the Lecture Room to show off their costumes. Thanks to all the kids and parents for working so hard on costumes and creative ideas!

The swings that were put up a couple weeks ago still are a hot item during outside play. Hide and Seek is also a favorite game of many and pretending stories (family, house, etc.) has also been fun to watch. One day during snack we listened to Peter and
the Wolf and the kids had fun acting out the different parts while we were outside.

The Bible story the last two weeks has been about Joseph. I think the children have enjoyed learning about all the things that happened, but how God still took care of Joseph and had a plan for him. We also focused on how Joseph made the choice to love his brothers and treat them nicely even though they had been mean to him. Over the next couple weeks we will be continuing through the Old Testament with stories about Moses and Joshua before we begin the Christmas story and Christmas activities.
