A Few Highlights from Week 13

This week had three highlights that I thought I would mention :)

The first being one of the first Wednesdays that was warm enough to pull out the water toys and have 'Wet Wednesday.' Started last year in Benin, Wet Wednesday is when we pull out the buckets of water and squirters and have some fun. Since every day in Benin is a warm one, we had lots of fun on Wednesday. Some weeks we had the water table out with cars or plastic animals, other weeks spray bottles and squirters to see how wet we can get others, paintbrushes, bottles, buckets . . . anything goes. On rainy Wednesdays we had fun going up to Deck 8 and running through the rain. This past Wednesday we pulled out the water table, spray bottles and squirters and had fun cooling down the trees and buildings.

Later in the week we pulled out the bag of plastic balls, turned the castle tent sideways and enjoyed a homemade 'ball pit.' They seem to have the most fun seeing who is faster: the ones inside throwing the balls out or the ones outside throwing the balls in.

On Friday, we took our second field trip here in South Africa to uShaka Marine World. We were able to see the dolphin show, walk through the aquarium with our great guide Neville, have lunch and see the penguins being feed. The aquarium is actually built like an old ship wreak, so it was interesting to see what the kids said. For the most part, they decided that it was not like our ship (thank goodness!) but still pretty cool. After seeing all the sealife, we were able to visit a giant playground before we went home. It was a lot of fun to see the kids climbing all over, trying new things, getting stuck in places and working it out - even the little ones got brave and went up to high places.
