This week we talked about our emotions and how they make us special. We talked about different emotions like mad, sad, happy, surprised, excited, grumpy, silly, scared and shy. Come see our emotion wall in the passage outside the preschool classroom. Our stories this week also followed our 'emotions' theme: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, On Monday When It Rained, Mr. Silly, Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Happy.

One of the centers this week was to play the game 'Candyland.' Everyone tried the game at least once, but I think Andre enjoyed it the most. Miss Sally even taught some of the children some French numbers and colors. Another center was dress-up which showed the great imginations of some of the students.

Our Bible lessons this week talked about the first three days of creation: light/dark, sky/water, land/oceans. We started to make pages for a creation book to take home at the end of next week. We also acted out the first three days using colored headbands. Some children were light (yellow bands), some were dark (black bands), some sky (light blue), some were water (dark blue) and some were land (brown) - and I played God :) This was a good way to show how God spoke and things did what he said. The 'Bible words' were shorter and easier to remember this week - Genesis 1.1 'In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.' Next week we will continue to learn about how God loved us so much that he created the world for us.
